Pain in Foot & Arm

When i first met Justine i was very nervous of having acupuncture as i have a phobia of needles! There was no need as its such a non invasive treatment and having no clothes removed is an added bonus! Justine has a very warm, practical and holistic approach to addressing my concerns. She listens.
I am always comforted by Justine's firm kind and honest answers to my many questions!
If you could benefit from a holistic honest and experienced person, you should ring Justine for further advice. Having endured many years of pain,
I should have saved my hard earned cash for a real professional such as Justine. I am pain free for the first time in over 20 years...a miracle...or as Justine says..."thats the powerful effectiveness of acupuncture" i will be forever grateful to Justine.

History of Miscarriage

I started visiting Justine after suffering 2 early miscarriages. Acupuncture was recommended to me to help to rebalance my hormones before trying again.

After the first session I felt less anxious and found that I was sleeping better. I saw Justine on a weekly basis for a few weeks and found out I was pregnant again. I started going for appointments twice a week for much of the first trimester as I was suffering from morning sickness and found this to be a great help.

I have only a few weeks left until my due date and now see Justine on a weekly basis. The session starts with a chat on how I have been feeling and any symptoms I have. Then these symptoms are worked on, including headaches, nausea, cramps and anxiety.

Justine is very welcoming and professional. She has been a great help to me throughout my pregnancy. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Recovery from a sports injury

I started visiting Justine 6 weeks after an adductor tear, I was due to complete a marathon and I had spent the previous 18 weeks training for the event. One day whilst out on a training run I had to stop suddenly due to a "freezing" sensation on my right side, I knew I had a fairly serious injury.

I had numerous physiotherapy sessions which were initially beneficial as well as sports rubs, to try to accelerate the healing process but the reality was I was finding it difficult to walk, let alone run.

After the initial recovery period and physio, I found I was in a plateau situation with the healing process, where I was not getting any worse, however i was showing no sign of improvement, was still in quite significant pain, and my hopes of returning to running were far too distant for my liking being a very active person.

I found Justine was practicing locally, and called her to see if she could help. After the first session with Justine the improvement was significant and immediate. The relief mentally as well as physically that I was finally able to move forward with the healing process was immense. Justine explained I may experience a healing crisis after the first session which I did, however I was expecting this and was assured this was to be viewed in a positive way.

I visited Justine 3 times per week for 3 weeks. Justine was welcoming and her home and the room she uses for the acupuncture sessions was warm and clean. Justine also recommended I try yoga along with monthly visits to herself for injury prevention in the future, and I fully intend to do both.

There is no comparison after the three weeks I visited Justine to how I felt before, The pain is gone, I am out walk/jogging 5K's and can see a return to running in the near future. Thank You Justine for all your help, and I cannot recommend you highly enough.

After suffering from severe panic attacks which led me to leave my job I attended Justine for several weeks. I found it very relaxing and still attend once every two weeks.

Since that I have taken up a new job and feel more able to cope and very seldom would suffer from a panic attack. As Justine is very flexible with her hours I attend whenever I need to.

I would recommend Justine as I was able to get my life back on track.

Endometriosis

I was confirmed with endometriosis in 2008. Every month I suffered extreme pain preventing me from doing normal things. This pain would often result in me passing out due to the severity of it.

On the advice of various people including my GP I decided to try acupuncture. I started going to Justine 5 months ago, going weekly for 8 sessions and now attending every month.

Although nervous at the start I have started to look forward to my sessions. Justine always makes me feel at ease and the sensation of the needles is no way as bad as I had anticipated.

Since starting acupuncture I have seen an overall remarkable improvement in my health, although my endometriosis is most likely still there, I experience very little pain or discomfort and am much happier. I plan to continue my sessions with Justine and would highly recommend acupuncture from Justine.

“I feel a lot better in myself. I don’t have that feeling of heaviness at the end of my walk as I used to. I feel it is doing me a lot of good.” Anne

Weight gain can be due to a number of factors. Mostly it appears to be related to stress which affects eating habits and hormone levels. Traditional Chinese Medicine is able to address all of these problems.

Case Study
My client became obese after going through menopause. She found her main issue with food was emotional. She would eat when feeling stressed. After one treatment with electro-acupuncture and auricular acupuncture she found herself able to control her appetite and felt her clothing was fitting her differently. She feels more positive and able to cope during stressful times. She is continuing bi-weekly treatments.

Ankle Pain

Ankle pain with loss of strength can be from injury or from an internal imbalance leading to lack of nourishment reaching the area and a failure for waste material to drain out via the lymphatic system causing pain and swelling. Conventional treatment would be rest, physiotherapy and anti-inflammatories.

Case Study
My client had been having walking problems due to ankle pain with associated weakness for several months. After two sessions of acupuncture she is now walking without any problems. She continues to come for acupuncture as a regular bi-weekly treatment to help with her general health.

Frozen Shoulder Post Stroke

My client had suffered a stroke and since that time had not had full use of his left arm. He was unable to move it higher than waist height and had numbness and tingling. He had been attending physiotherapy with no success.

I treated him with electro-pads and Tui Na massage for several weeks every two or three days until he regained his full strength and movement capacity. He now attends once a month for maintenance treatments.

If I had been able to use needles on this client I would have been able to resolve his issues more quickly but he did not want acupuncture.

Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) is a weakening of the muscles and nervous system caused by overuse. The most common occurs in the arms and hands and is called Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Symptoms include numbness, tingling and a reduction of strength. It can be very debilitating and many people are unable to work when it develops.

Case Study
My client’s job required him to do close work with his hands. He was finding that he would have periods of complete numbness and an inability to use his hands while at work. These periods might last for 15 minutes.

After ten treatments of acupuncture and Tui Na massage he no longer had this problem.
